Seattle Book Signing

On Saturday, June 17th at 1:00pm, I will be at Alderwood Barnes and Noble in Lynwood for a book signing. As this will be the day before Father’s Day, then this will be the perfect opportunity to purchase signed copies for your father and someone else’s father.

Writing a ‘Synopsis’ is not one of life’s pleasures.

One of the rewards for creating a great novel is writing a bunch of synopses that target a different need. It’s a chore required from an author and it isn’t one of life’s pleasures – agents want them, publishers need them the consumer should see them.

IMG_0214 Some are short and general and do not reveal the plot, others are long and detailed and require a summary of the entire story, including all the twists and turns. It takes time, and as I write this, I feel guilty, I must return to the synopsis that needs finishing.

An Interview with Paul W. Feenstra

I was recently interviewed by Fiona for her Author Blog, ‘Authorinterviews’ She asked some thought provoking questions that made me stop and consider my answers.

It had never crossed my mind to question my writing style, or who influenced me. I can only think back to when I was a child and read late into the night when I should have been fast asleep. Did those books, those authors play a role in my desire to write?

That leaves the question, who do I write like?

On the Road

Being an author is more than sitting at computer clattering away on the keyboard swilling endless cups of coffee, its about reaching out to the bookseller community.

Yesterday I visited a couple of book stores in beautiful San Diego County in the stunning beach community of La Jolla. I popped into ‘D.G. Wells Books’ and met the delightful proprietor, Dennis. (see pic)

Later, I visited the independent bookstore Warwick’s and had a productive chat.DG Wells Bookstoe - La Jolla 02
